So join me in Living Out Loud and Laughing Out Loud. Hey you guys, welcome back. Thank you for tuning in to another episode. This episode will be a somewhat of a review of the movie Sinners. Um, I figured I'd do this episode after you know, Mike B. Jordan, he just won an Oscars for Best Actor in a Leading Role. How exciting is that? Oh my gosh. He played his role so so well. Like I thought it was so cool that he played a twin. Like as soon as the movie started, and like they showed like the two guys, I can't remember their names, honestly. Um, they showed the two guys, and I was like, wait, like he looks like Michael B. Jordan. I was like, okay, this one is Michael B. Jordan, but I was like, wait, he looks like Michael B. Jordan. I didn't realize that like he was playing a twin, like he was playing himself twice. Like, that is some serious talent for real, because then you have to memorize like two times your lines or whatever, right? Like, but yes, I thought it was really cool that he played as like a twin. Um, but yeah, he did so, so good in his role. Uh, so my boyfriend and I watched a movie about two weekends ago, and I'm not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical about watching this movie, but it actually was pretty good. Like, there was a lot of things in the movie that like if you're not paying attention for real, you'll miss it. Like, there was a lot of like messages and stuff like that you could miss if you're not paying attention. Um, or maybe you did watch it and you did notice the messages, but you just haven't discussed it with anyone. Um, so maybe we'll have some of the same like takeaways from the movie. But okay, so let's see. Um, one of the things that I thought was interesting was that okay, I might, I'm gonna go like, I won't go in order in the movie. Um, I'll probably start from the end, to be honest. Um, but what I thought was interesting at the end, do you guys remember when, if you saw the movie, and hopefully you guys already saw it and you're, you know, listening to the podcast, you already saw the movie. If you have not seen the movie, just letting you know right now, this will probably be a spoiler because I figured like it's been enough time, right? Like people probably already saw the movie. So if you haven't, this is your time now to either go watch, like pause the podcast, go watch the movie, or I don't know. Um, yeah, unless you don't mind spoilers. But yeah, so okay, so at the end, when the preacher boy he was saying the Our Father um prayer, and the guy, like the main vampire guy, he started repeating it and then everybody else was repeating it. I think that was interesting because it just shows you and like reminds you that like the enemy can also uh quote scripture, right? Like it's not just like, oh, like only Christians can quote scripture, like the enemy can't or whatever. No, like he literally can, right? Like, um, so it's kind of just like a reminder that like be careful who who you're around, who you're listening to, because just because they can quote scripture, just because they, you know, they seem to like they'll walk around and like carry the Bible and stuff like that, like just still use your own discernment. Um, because you never know who's a wolf in sheep's clothing. So another thing that I thought was interesting was that the vampires, they always had to ask for someone to let them into the house. It was, you know, if it was like that cabin thing they were in, they were like, Oh yeah, like let me in, let me in, or let me out. Like, if you if you realize, like we are the ones who invite the enemy or the negative into our lives, right? Like, you can open your door for positive or you can open your door for negative. So, like, if you remember when the vampire first asked, um, it was that one house with the lady and her husband. He was like, Oh yeah, like, can you guys please let me in? They let him in. And then he killed them and they turned into vampires. And then with the cabin, like they kept asking, Oh, let me in, let me in. Like, it's just, it's just really interesting because like it's just a reminder that like we are the ones that would allow for the enemy to come into our lives. Um, but yeah, I thought that was interesting. Oh, and as far as the whole like letting letting him in stuff, like, so if you remember, there was a part where there were like the Indians that were they came to the the house of the husband and the wife, um, and they were like, Oh, if if you've seen this person, do not let him in. So it's almost like like Christians letting people know, like, hey, you know, believe in God, do not like stay away from doing these things and whatever, whatever, so that you're basically not letting the enemy in. So it's almost like the Indians were trying to preach that, like, hey, like, don't let the enemy in. I mean, literally, because this guy, the vampire, was the enemy. Um, but you know, of course, they had already let him in, anyways. Um, and I think that's maybe why she was so defensive when she opened the door. Like, she opened up the door, you know, with her weapon in her hand. So she was kind of defensive. Um, almost like she knew she was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing. Oh, and another part that was pretty interesting. Um, the scene where the preacher boy was doing, uh he was singing the song like during the party, and there was a lot of dancing going on. There was just a lot going on in that scene, right? Like, so I think that scene um has something to do about the power of the tongue because the preacher boy was singing about how he doesn't want to be what his father wants him to be and all this stuff. And the main vampire guy said that he heard his voice from miles away. So it's almost like the preacher boy singing, like the words that he was saying was like letting the vampire guy know that, like, oh, this person, he's kind of on the fence. He's not like he's basically not fully rooted in Christ and everything. So he's this is a vulnerable person. So I should I'll I'll probably be able to get this person pretty uh easily. Like, this is almost an easy and open target for me. Um, and then that's when you know the vampire, like well, all three vampires ended up coming to the uh the cabin area. Um, he's probably thinking, like, oh yeah, like this person, if not all these people, this one specific person is a vulnerable person that we can probably get. So they probably thought that they would have been able to get him to open the door. Um, but yeah, that movie was it was very, very interesting. Um, I was I I feel like when I was watching it at first, I was like, uh, what is going on? Like, but then once the movie finished, um, my boyfriend and I, we discussed about some of the stuff, and he can honestly go on and on. We literally talked about this a few days ago. Um, he can go on and on about the the different things that was happening in the movie. Um, but I'm just like taking some of the things that we did talk about um about the movie. So I just wanted to share those thoughts with you guys. Um I think I'm actually gonna end up doing because this is a pretty short episode, I'm going to do like a second episode and just like upload those together. Um, or like separate episodes, but at the same time. Um, I think the next one will be about a little bit more about my faith. Um, I I think it makes sense. Um, and yeah, a little bit more about my faith and like what I've got going on, how I've been like doing my things, my walk and everything. But yeah, I hope you guys enjoy this very mini episode. Bye guys. That's it for today's episode of Living Out Loud with Beth. Thanks for hanging out with me. Until next time, keep living out loud and laughing out loud.
